Privacy Policy
Effective 22 September 2026
Your handwriting is personal, and a font made from it is yours. Inkfont is built so that neither ever leaves your iPad unless you send it somewhere yourself. This page explains, in plain language, what that means.
What we collect
Nothing. Inkfont has no account and no sign-in, and it does not send your handwriting, your fonts, your documents or anything about how you use the app to us or to anyone else.
What stays on your iPad
Each font you make is stored on the iPad as the strokes you wrote — positions and pen pressure — together with its settings: its name, the pen, spacing, and the text you typed into the preview. The font file, and any PDF sheet, is built on the iPad from that. Deleting a font in Fonts deletes its strokes.
Camera and photos
If you choose to scan printed handwriting sheets, Inkfont asks for the camera. You can also pick a photo or PDF instead. The page is read on the iPad to find the letters you wrote, and the image itself is not kept or sent anywhere. Inkfont only sees the photos you pick, never your whole library.
Files you export
When you install a font, iPadOS asks you to confirm and then makes it available to your other apps; you can remove it in Settings at any time. When you share a font file or a PDF sheet, it goes wherever you choose to send it, under the privacy terms of that destination. We are not involved in either.
Analytics and diagnostics
Inkfont contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPad's settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports and usage statistics under Apple's own terms; we use them only to fix problems.
Purchases
Writing, editing and previewing are free. Exporting is a one-time in-app purchase made through Apple. Apple handles the payment, and we never see your card or billing details. The app checks with the App Store whether the purchase has been made so that it can turn export on — including after a restore.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme, in your own browser's storage, and nothing else. The handwriting font the page is set in is served from this site, not from a third-party font service. What you type into the demo stays in your browser.
Children
Inkfont does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. A change that affects what the app collects would also be noted in the app's release notes.
